Royal Aloha Vacation Club is one of the country’s oldest timeshare companies having celebrated its 30-year anniversary in 2007.
Although its roots lie in its Hawaiian resorts (located on Waikiki, Kona, and Maui islands), it has since expanded to include four resorts in the continental U.S., Europe (Spain), and its Mexican resort in Acapulco.
Still, the Hawaiian resorts seem to be the most popular and overall offer the most comprehensive amenities.
The buildings are not particularly aesthetically attractive, looking more like apartment complexes than condominiums, but users in general continually comment on the spacious floor plans, included laundry facilities, convenient locations and on site amenities. One common comment is that the furniture needs to be updated, but this is often mentioned as a side not amidst glowing reviews.
At some resorts, such as the Waikiki tower, these include barbeques, swimming pools, and sauna and tennis courts. The two-bedroom condominiums include spacious seating for two and a full sleeper couch and love seat. All three Hawaiian resorts are within walking distance of surrounding main attractions.
Should you stay at a RAVC resort, be advised to bring your own shampoo as it is not included. In addition, maid service seems to consist primarily of a concierge checking up on you once a week to see if you require more toilet paper, etc. and a once-a-week light cleaning. However, maintenance problems are handled quickly and the staff at all three locations received glowing reviews from overall users.
The Acapulco resort is located on a hilltop overlooking Puerto Marques beach and is also a condominium tower. Although it does have on site restaurants and lounges, you have to walk to nearby tennis courts and golf courses. It was very difficult to find reviews or comprehensive information on this resort, but generally it seems to be very similar to the island resorts.
The four other United States resorts are located at Lake Tahoe, Utah, Chandler, Arizona, Branson, Missouri and Otter Rock, Oregon. They have fewer onsite amenities than any of the other resorts (mostly a swimming pool and perhaps a restaurant or two—although the restaurants are positioned to offer stunning views) and seem to rely more heavily on the surrounding region’s attractions and scenery. All four locations are also modeled in the condominium style.
