Holiday Inn Club Vacations offers its name brand service primarily through its four vacation resorts. They are located in Florida, Vermont, Minnesota and Tennessee. The timeshare resorts are built by Kemmons Wilson, the man who in 1952 opened the very first Holiday Inn in Memphis, Tennessee.
Although Holiday Inn is known for its simple, clean and affordable hotels primarily marketed to vacationing families, its timeshare resorts are in fact quite a cut above the company’s standard lodging and offer luxury amenities.
The flagship Orlando resort for example, has mini golf courses, tennis courts and a small water park that includes a lazy river and two water slides. In addition, it is conveniently located near Disney World. Likewise, all other resorts are strategically located for easy access to the surrounding region’s main tourism attractions ranging from skiing and horseback riding to luxurious beaches and restaurants.
It is worth noting that the non-Florida resorts, located in New England and Minnesota, are not quite as luxurious in terms of amenities offered directly at the resort but are built very close to the surrounding area’s prime attractions, restaurants or parks. They are marketed more towards people who enjoy the outdoors, nature and more active pursuits such as hiking or skiing.
The Holiday Inn Vacation Club also offers bonus points that can be accumulated and exchanged for stays at other luxury hotels, meaning you’re not trapped in your timeshare when it comes to vacation options.
Another nice feature of the Holiday Inn Vacation Club is its flexibility. You have the option of breaking up your month into several smaller trips. They also guarantee availability, making it an attractive option for those who do not have regularly scheduled vacation time.
Housekeeping at most resorts does have to be arranged at the front desk and although amenities such as detergent, toilet paper and dishwashing fluid are provided, if staying more than a week you will have to replenish the supply.
